WHAT IS FAILURE?

Description automatically generatedWHAT IS FAILURE?

This may be a surprise, but there’s no such thing!

In the dictionary, failure means not being able to do something. It’s just something negative you’ve done that you don’t want.

It doesn’t mean anything else but that! It doesn’t mean you’re hopeless or worthless. It’s just an outcome of what you’ve done. That’s all.

Oh yes, you may raise your eyebrows here, but it’s true, failure is your approach, your mindset, your feeling you have, not a conclusion or an outcome. It's not to do with what you’ve done. It’s the way you’ve been going about it.

That’s what failure is all about. If we didn’t fail, we wouldn’t learn. We would be trapped in the same old place.

A failure is an event, not a person!

“THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS FAILURE

THERE ARE ONLY RESULTS WE CAN LEARN FROM”

Everyone has failures in their life. Even Colonel Sanders failed 1,009 times!

Colonel Sanders, the creator of the KFC chain, in his snazzy, clean, crisp white coat, dashing black tie, and walking cane, spent most of his life working as a manager of a restaurant. After he retired, he started going door to door selling his secret fried chicken recipe. And it took him 1,009 “nos” before he finally got his first “yes” and then went on to build his global fried chicken empire.

He is an incredible inspiration to us all. He showed us that if we persevere, we can achieve whatever we want to. He found a way that would work for him; he found a way to use this challenge to keep him motivated.

I know this example is extreme. But it shows us that the way we think, talk to ourselves, and question ourselves holds us back.

As Thomas Edison said, “I haven’t failed, I have just found 10,000 ways that don’t work.”

When we’re trying to stop the urge to binge and fail, it makes us feel bad. We then question if we can ever overcome the claws of what we do. What this is telling us is that what we’re doing now isn’t working, so rethink and do something different.

Now is the time to start to trust you’re worth fighting for. You deserve a happy life, and it may be easier than you think.

THAN IT TAKING CONTROL OF YOU!” - KATE HUDSON-HALL
