Do you get enough sleep? If you’re tired, controlling your bingeing and purging can become more difficult. So, it’s crucial to look at the amount of sleep you’re getting.

 

Experiment and see how you respond to different amounts of sleep.

According to the SleepFoundation.org, teenagers’ (14-17) sleep range is 8-10 hours while adults’ (18-64) sleep range is 7-9 hours

If you’re struggling to get the correct amount of sleep, follow these simple yet practical, healthy tips to help you sleep all night soundly.

  • Get into the routine to keep your bedroom only for sleeping or sex, not to lounge around watching TV, working on your computer, or tinkering on your phone.
  • Make a sleep schedule and stick to it even on weekends.
  • Avoid daytime naps, as this will affect your night-time sleep pattern.
  • Exercise, within reason, daily.
  • Beware of too much caffeine or alcohol.
  • Build into your bedtime ritual relaxation, like taking a warm bath with candles.

Techniques in this course to help you sleep more soundly right through the night are:

  • Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) also known as the tapping technique, which you’ll be learning in Step 8.
  • Mindfulness – learning mindfulness would be a massive help to still your never-ending chatter, keeping you awake at night. Imagine a muzzle to silence your leprechaun?
  • Thought stopping technique to batter that chatter! In Step 5.

Hypnotherapy is also an incredible therapy to reprogram your unconscious mind to sleep soundly right through the night.
